Sacha Baron Cohen vs. Ryan Seacrest
So the Oscars were last night. Im sorry i tried to watch most of it but it was a major snoozefest if you ask me. Most of the movies that were nominated (and won) were ones hardly anybody saw.
Can any of you honestly say you saw more than 2 of the 10 nominees for Best Picture?
It was kind of drab.
And ok maybe its a guy thing...but the absolute least thing i care about is the whole red-carpet production. Which actress is wearing what designer etc etc.
Man id rather watch grass grow.
Cept its February so...thats not happening either.

Well a funny thing happened on the red carpet yesterday which turned out to be the most talked about (and shared video) from last nights Oscars.
Thats right...what people are talking about the most didnt even happen during the actual show. but BEFORE.
Ryan Seacrest interviewed Sacha Baron Cohen who was all dressed up in character to promote his role in his new film 'The Dictator' (which comes out May 11) and...well this happened...

Now dont lie...all of you probably thought that was the greatest thing to see him spill that all over Ryan Seacrest. I know when i first saw it i was like 'YES!'
And you can tell how pissed Ryan is about it as he doesnt do a good job shrugging it off. At least Guliana Rancic & Kelly Osborne come to his defense and try to make him feel better by saying 'This is going to be trending worldwide in about 1 minute' to make good ol Ryan feel better.

As much as i dont dig these pre award show red-carpet ceremonies. If more things like THIS happened...i just might change my way of thinking about them.
Kudos to you Mr. Cohen. Now to see if this stunt helped or hurted you box office numbers when the movie comes out.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Trailer
Who knew Abraham Lincoln led such a secret life outside of his presidency lol?

OK so clearly this is Fiction, but still...what a fun concept.
About two years ago i saw this interesting book that had just came out called 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' by Seth Grahame-Smith. Reading the back cover it showed she was also the author of the NY Times Best Seller 'Pride And Predjudice And Zombies'. Which...like the title entails...fuses the 'Pride & Predjudice' story with the scenario of Zombies being invited into the storyline. Similar to what she's doing here with good ol Honest Abe.

The story is described as follows "The epistolary-style book is written as a biography of Abraham Lincoln, based on "secret diaries" kept by the 16th president and given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturges."
I will admit, it was a fun read. And now its being made into a movie & will hit theatres June 22nd of this year. Here's the first trailer thats been released for the movie...just in time for Presidents Day!

The role of Abe is played by Benjamin Walker. A guy whos no stranger to playing Presidents as he is rumoured to have turned down the role of The Beast in the X-Men: First Class movie to play Andrew Jackson in the Broadway Musical 'Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson'.
Not alot of big names are in this film which says to me that it will probably be good. Well i mean considering the far-fetched story...who WOULDNT want to see what life was like in American in the 1800's had Vampires been thrown into the mix.
I know i would....and on June 22nd i can!
Happy Presidents Day!

Nicki Minaj performs 'Roman Holiday' at the Grammys
So who watched the Grammys last night?
if you were like me and got bored through the first half then chances are you may have turned it off to watch something more exciting.
Too bad if that was the case cause the only thing about the Grammys that people are talking about are the performances that happend in the later hours.
Jennifer Hudson had the best performance of the night with a spot-on tribute to Whitney Houston.
Adele, in her 1st live performance since vocal cord surgery back in December not only got everybody on their feet but was the big winner walking away with 6 Grammys including Record of the Year and Song of the Year (the 2 big ones)
but aside from all that...whats got everyone talking the most...was the performance by Nicki Minaj.
Minaj (who sometimes goes by her alter-ego 'Roman' on a few tracks) gave viewers that side of her last night, which left alot of people confused & angry as to what they just saw.
Here's the performance...

So whats your analysis? I mean im a Nicki Minaj fan for sure but #1 i would have rather seen her perform a more familiar track. #2 i wish she would have not tried so hard to go the Lady Gaga route and overdo it and/or be controversial.
The majority of people who watched the Grammys felt she overdid it and didnt enjoy her performance.
She was trending on twitter well into the early hours of this morning, and maybe that was the angle she was going for, to get people talking. But regardless i still didnt care much for the performance. Shes talented enuff where she doesnt need all these bells & whistles and outrageous costumes and levitations.
Still it remains the highlight of the Grammys. So Mission accoplished?

K-LYZ 'Baby' (Justin Bieber Cover)
One of the things that has become more popular since Youtube was created was people making music videos where they cover popular songs by other artists.
Not just average joes either, some legit popular bands like to go viral by sometimes performing an acoustic version on a popular song on the radio today by another artist or something of the sort.
Then you get those real, obscure song remakes...which is what brings to where we are right now.
The band is called K-LYZ and they decided it would be a good idea to cover Justin Biebers' popular hit 'Baby'.
They even tried to take it a step further by hiring some horrible kid actors and making their own music video out of it.
I would love to tell you more but i'd love for you to watch this video for the first time just like i did. Its so much more enjoyable that way. We can chat more after you finish.

(By the way this is one of those videos where the user 'disabled embedding by request' which some Youtubers sometimes like to do because it helps get their videos more views. So sorry if you cant just stream it right here but the link just takes you directly to the page the video is on anyways)
and trust me when i say...its worth it!

So how awesome was that? Did yo have a favorite band member? Mine personally was the older pianist. He was clearly the Justin Timberlake of K-LYZ. These guys have videos all over the internet btw. Some of their other videos are just as cheesy as this one too btw. This could very well be my new favorite band of 2012. What do you think?
