So, you’re stuck here on your break. Well it may not be California or The Bahamas; but Buffalo has a lot of things for you to do.
Take a tour- The Albright Knox Art Gallery has a lot of interesting exhibitions and installations to see. Admission to the gallery is free every first Friday of the month, thanks to M&T’s First Friday. There are special programs and events for the whole family, and the gallery extends its hours from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Shea’s Performing Arts Center- Built in the style of a European opera house in 1926 Shea’s is a national historic site. They continue to entertain the Buffalo community with numerous Broadway shows, concerts, and performances. They even offer a historical tour of the elegant theatre itself. More information is available on their website.
And let’s not forget, we have a natural wonder- Niagara Falls!!! And it’s only 20 minutes away.
If you’re more into shopping, why not check out the Elmwood Village. Locally owned and operated these trendy boutiques have something for everyone. Stop for a drink or a quick bite to eat at one of the many wonderful restaurants or coffee shops while you're out, or pop into a gallery. If you’re feeling adventurous you can wander down side streets for hidden gems. Many stores feature products created by local designers such as clothing, artwork, books, and jewelry. Elmwood Village offers a unique spin on the traditional shopping scene.
These are just a few ideas; there are plenty of other wonderful things to do in the Buffalo area. Don’t be afraid to explore!
